Meeting kakis at Leaning Journeys

Category : NUS

I went for the Learning Journeys thank you ceremony for participating institutions essentially to catch up with friends involved in offering education programmes for students.

We all had go up on stage one by one, macam convocation and the clapping was maintained throughout by a game crowd. Since LJ is offered by all sorts of institutions, I saw representaives from SAGE, SCDF, CPIDB, CNB as well as museums and nature reserves, etc.

Besides the Buloh and Ubin reps (the most familiar faces; e.g. I visit both places again this week), I was able to catch up with kakis in NHB - the former Museum Roundtable secretariat team, and some from National Archives who run Reflections at Bukit Chandu, the end point for the Pasir Panjang Heritage Trail which together we reprise in July and Sep this year.

Other Museum Roundtable kakis were there as well and I managed to grab some of them for a photo; see the Raffles Museum News webpage. Hmm..must convert the Museum Roundtable page into a blog soon!

I also met up with Alvin's former classmate SN, who apparently discovered blogging last month and is now quite insane! I SMS-ed Alvin in Beijing who has emailed her for the link already - she was miles ahead of us in web development even when she was a student, so its no surprise, really.

Since the ceremony was in Ang Mo Kio, I grabbed a lift with my NHB kakis to the ruins of the former National Library, where I grabbed a buss to Holland Village for a Green Plan 2012 review discussion.
