It's a sensational headline, using the iPod's name to reach a wider audience or justify the story. It worked since its probably why Teutoberg picked it up.
The poor lady paid an inordinately high price for her mistake, and her friend's message should be repeated, "I hope people will think twice about cycling while wearing headphones."

"An iPod has been blamed for the death of an Australian woman in London.
Patricia McMillan was listening to her iPod when she was knocked off her bike and thrown under a truck near her west London home on February 2.
The Evening Standard newspaper quoted Ms McMillan's best friend, Jacques Poullard, as saying she may still have been alive if she hadn't been listening to the iPod while riding her bike.
"She was obsessed by that thing.
I never said anything to her about wearing the iPod but now I think if she hadn't had it on she might have heard the (truck).
"I hope people will think twice about cycling while wearing headphones."
Ms McMillan, a 32-year-old law student, had lived in the UK for 10 years.
