Mac mini's the next target?
"The Symantec Internet Security Threat Report, which tracked malicious hacker trends between July and December 2004, said increased sales of the low-priced Mac mini to less security-savvy computer users will lead to a bigger risk." Singapore rejoining UNESCO
"Singapore has decided to rejoin it [UNESCO] - first as an observer, and later, in two or three years' time, as a member." - a prompt email reply by MICA to Tan Wee Cheng, posted on the Singapore Heritage maiing list in response to a recent discussion there.

Library hours extended
22 March 2005 - the National Library Board (NLB) announced the extension and standardization of operating hours for all its regional and community library branches, effective from 1 April 2005.

  • Regional and standalone community libraries will open their doors from 10am to 9pm from Mondays to Sundays.
  • Community libraries in shopping malls will be open from 11am to 9pm from Mondays to Sundays.
  • Visitorship for standalone libraries saw an average of 7,000 and 4,000 visitors for Saturdays and Sundays respectively, while regional libraries had an average visitorship of 12,000 and shopping mall libraries 10,000 for each of these days.
