Xylo gets plenty to eat!

Category : mac and the internet

I last wrote about Xylo at the vet where the only problem reported were body mites. These mites could get transmitted to other cats, so after a quick dry meal, he was lathered with an anti-mite shampoo and showered. Then he was treated with the anti-mite Revolution as were Tiger and Mr Bats. And we'd be watching for scratching.

Then a room was prepped for the recommended two weeks of cautionary isolation from Tiger and Mr Bats. Once in his room, he received a special meal of freshly cooked fish which he chewed and swallowed very quickly. Any doubt I had about bringing him back was gone, poor boy.

In fact, he was eating so fast, he'd choke on his food, spit it out and swallow right back again!

He cleaned and licked himself extremely thoroughly after and it explained his good condition somewhat. Good groomer!

As with all new 'uns, Xylo had human companionship on the floor next to him each night to help him get settled in. But it was difficult to get sleep on the carpet as he would periodically attack my big toe during his nocturnal bouts of exercises. So much for his angelic looks, sigh. I had brought back a monster!

The attacks woke me regularly enough to help me remember to refill his bowl with the kitten food - these regular but not large meals were easily provided since he was isolated in his own room. Eventually he would stop wolfing down the food once he realised a regular supply was available. Stil it was nice to see him lick his plate clean - and now you klnow how he gained a kilogramme in a week!

Happily, after he eats, its just a matter of time before he gets hit by the ZZZ monster and is an adorable angel once again!

For all the Xylo fans, thanks for asking after him!
