Making use of the wireless

Category : mac and the internet

We were down to our last visitors after a long day and these kids obviously needed a different pace of guiding. So we had them hunt for specific animals in what was now a much emptier gallery (aquariums were removed just yesterday).

Eventually we sat down and enjoyed some videos - thankfully the NUS wireless connection is a fast one and I was able to download the QT movies to view at full screen almost instantly.

Many volunteers own laptops, so that's a possibility. Since But visiting groups are usually larger, it'd be better to use a large screen linked to a Mac Mini. Placed somewhere in the museum, we could play relevant clips (even the unedited material) especially of subject matter that comes up.

I've accumulated a reasonable amount of material over the years and there is also an exponentially increasing amount emerging all the time.
