My there blogs, this one, Habitatnews and Raffles Museum News do not get automatically pinged. I found the relevant answer in their FAQ.
"Q: Part of my URL is being stripped in Technorati. What can I do?
A: Technorati normalizes all its URLs by taking the base URL for the blog. Thus you may see such things removed when blog claiming:
- the slash at the end of the URL
So, for example, if you are trying to claim "www.BLOGNAME.com/blog/index.php" and your blog resides here only, our spiders will go to "www.BLOGNAME.com/blog"
To correct this, and also to better direct users to your site, you may want to consider modifying your server to permanently redirect the "www.BLOGNAME.com/blog" URL to "www.BLOGNAME.com/blog/index.php" by sending a permanent redirect response (HTTP Status 301) to anyone requesting that top page. Apache's mod_rewrite is a popular method of handling such requests.
Once you do this, our spiders will be able to visit your actual blog location to claim or index it successfully."
