Mac World Jan 2005 - Keynote 2!

Category : mac and the internet

Watch the webcast here or read the commentary on The Apple Blog or at Popaghandi who stayed up for hardware news.

iLife a yawn for non-users like me, including iPhoto 5 which looks to be finally catching up with iView Media Pro. I'm satisfied with my hardware for the moment although iPod shuffle is intriguing. At S$178 for 512MB, its a song-playing thumbdrive. Still, the point of interest for me was the update to Keynote.

Happily enough Keynote 2 was announced, as part of iWork which includes Pages, a word processor. Pages may just liberate mac users from the sluggish Word and is hopefully something akin to a Pagemaker Lite?

I pre-ordered iWork from the SingaporeStore. As staff of an educational institution, I need only pay S$90 instead of S$158 (before GST) via the Educational Discounts link.

"There's a new function that lets you put a preview image of a web page on a slide, and when that slide comes up, you can have Keynote launch Safari and load the page live. The show pauses while you're there and then you can return to Keynote by clicking its icon in the dock. The show will kick right back in." Read inpressions from a quick look at Keynote 2 at
