The only relief was the absence of trash floating in from the Johor Straits. Can expect that with next week's higher voume of water during the spring tide. We'll take more pictures and persuade the appropriate agency (I'll use Cut Red Tape) to reposition the booms that were set up at the mouth of this estuary a few years ago. The trash can be deflected towards Kranji mangroves more effectively where it can accumulate in a smaller area, making it easier for for removal, and remain out of sight. Our annual coastal cleanup will help clear it. With dusk, the mosquitoes came out in full force, even affecting me. Thankfully the ladies had packed the super-strong SAF repellent. When we finally left, the park gates were locked (the park closes at 7pm) so the security guard unlocked the gates and waved us off. Thankfully someone had driven and we could head out to Sungei Kadut for a hot drink before returning supplies to the museum.
