I have come to know a few RGS students through their teacher, Mariette Ong, when they helped out at the ICCS 2003 exhibition at East Coast Park, Sungei Buloh Wetlands Reserve Anniversary Walk and the Phylogentic Garden project.
Recently, a group of them wanted to examine Mandai mangroves, and were persistent. So I had some company on my field trip today (Sat 07 Aug 2004). Three of them struggled in the mud at parts but all pulled through eventually and were still cheerful though ravenous at 1pm. I slowed down the pace a little so we never made it to Mandai Kechil, but I figured they could just get used to the ambience this time. So their trip today was about mud walking and sinking!
