Tiger at the vet

Category : meow

Tiger has had a build up of plaque on his teeth despite the regular provision of bones in his diet. However, this strange cat tends to swallow his food, a habit we suspect he inherits from some disreputable pedigreed ancestor.

Well, we can't all be street cats.

Since he is not much of a chewer, we've examined his teeth and gums more often (thankfully Tiger can be easily manhandled.) Besides the build up of plaque, his gums have been somewhat inflamed and we finally decided its time a vet gets a good look at it all.

It will be no fun for him since the teeth cleaning and gum examination is done under GA. So he (and Mr Bats) were off food and water for 12 hours. Easy for him though, and he and Mr Bats were gamely play-fighting this morning.

Sigh he's always been bad at travellng. Once I stuffed him into the pet carrier, it was "Miaow! Miaow! Miaow!"- all the way to the vet!

Deep throated calls; pretty good voice he has, though we rarely hear it other than the five minutes before he and Mr Bats get their daily meal of 'fresh fish'.

I'm on leave today - will nip down and retrieve a groggy cat once they call me.

While I won't reccomend you inhale his breath, Mr Bats' teeth and gums are fine.
