The Swedish ship Götheborg has returned to port amidst much fanfare. Would have beeen nice to have been there to cover the event and meet up with former crew. Doubt if any of the Singaporean crew made it back there. The navy guys are as busy as I am and we haven't even met up yet. But really if we aren't sailing, it isn't half as exciting!
If the Swedes are blogging about the homecoming, it must be in Swedish which they are apt to do, since I can't find that much.
I really just have a a couple more posts to make before I let it lie fallow or backdate with my experiences - a Singaporean in Göteborg (port, not ship) and saw the Singapore flag (they hoisted one for the each of the ports they visited), Alvin in China called the tv station and will be getting their 22-episode tv series from an appreciative producer, Hua Qin saw a gold-plated model of the ship in Suntec CIty and Ivan Chew saw commemorative tea sold in a Chinatown shop!
