Farewell to Pak Salam, 22 Oct 2003
The marine workers in the biodiversity community gathered on 22nd October 2003 to bid farewell to Pak Salam. He has been with the department since 1963, starting as a deckhand and is now captain of the Mudskipper. He will be retiring at the end of tthe month.

Photo 4 of 30. I recalled the many trips with the Muskipper, in the angst-filled 90's as we lost many sites to development. I had always been touched by the exceptional care of Salam and his crew. Being the non-swimmer venturing into the sea, I was the source of considerable worry to the Mudskipper crew. Yet they always made me feel secure, comfortable and encouraged.
